About Silver Bay

"Silver Bay" is the Silver Bay Association YMCA Family and Conference Center (SBA) located near the northern end of Lake George in Silver Bay, New York. The 600 acre classic Adirondack resort has an historic inn, cottages, and a lodge. This is not camping! Comfortable rooms at various prices with varying amenities are available in different buildings. SBA has a children's center, rowboats, canoes, nature and hiking trails, 2 gyms, shuffleboard, tennis, games, volleyball, fitness center, climbing wall, lounges, chapel, and playground ... and a stunning combination of lake and mountains!

Special events each year typically include a silent auction (bring that item you would like to re-gift!), an entertainer or speaker on Friday night, a talent show (bring your talent!) and a dance on Saturday night, and on Sunday morning a talk by a UU followed by a service in the lovely stone chapel.

UU Weekend is a cooperative venture and depends on countless volunteers to be successful. Parents with young children will be needed to assist in the children's program, workshops need presenters, and many small tasks await you! Volunteering does not take much time and has the added advantage of helping you make connections with other people!

Activities

Programming is planned for both adults and children. Children must either attend the planned program for their age group or be with their parents. Adults, of course, can participate at will! All meals are taken in the dining hall, which is also the site for announcements of any additions or changes to the planned program.

Cost and Lodging

Several lodging/meal options are available (prices are on the printable registration form). Note that "child" is defined as ages 3 to 5, and Youth, ages 6 to 17 years old, sharing parent's room. Infants up to age 2 are free. Each room must have one person paying adult rate. Lodging assignments will be made based on date of registration and deposit. This year we have the entire historic Inn reserved for our group. Rooms on the third floor of the Inn (Option C or D) have limited or no heat. The Inn and Dining Hall are handicapped accessible. All meals from Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch are included. An optional buffet is available on Friday evening for those who can arrive between 5:30 and 8:15 pm.

Please see the current registration form for prices and details.

UU Weekend Scholarship Fund

Some financial assistance may be available; contact your congregation's representative. If you have enjoyed these UU Weekends, please consider helping others attend by including a gift to the Scholarship Fund with your deposit.
