The Adult Education Program is currently considering what programs to offer in the 2010-11 year and what time frames to offer them. We will be surveying the congregation via the September Windows Update.
Currently under consideration:
- The New UU (see below)
- Owning Your Religious Past
- Articulating Your UU Faith
- Parenting as a Unitarian Universalist
- Workshops and discussions on ethical eating
The New UU is an adult ed program from the Tapestry of Faith program for new and old UUs to learn more about who we are and what we believe.
- Learn more about UU traditions and history
- Examine your own personal history in light of our UU heritage and traditions
- Explore what it means to you to be a Unitarian Universalist
- Connect with newcomers and long-timers
- Be recognized for completing each of the sessions and for completing all six.
The Adult Education Committee of the FUUSA Religious Education Council would like to offer the New UU program in the 2010-2011 church year. It could be offered as: a six-session course of ninety minutes each, which can be offered periodically (weekly, monthly, or some other period of time, on Saturdays or weekday evenings), as single offerings throughout the year; options based on interest.
The six workshops are:
- Theology and Worship
- Where Do We Come From? Unitarian Universalist Roots.
- How We Grow in Faith - Philosophy of Religious Education
- Social Justice Philosophy and Practice
- How Are Decisions Made? Governance and Polity
- Membership
But we need to hear from you! Are you interested? There must be sufficient interest so that we might have qualified facilitators to lead the individual sessions.
A questionnaire about this and other adult ed offerings will be provided as a supplement to the September Windows Update.
